How do I work out currency equivalents with a calculator?

I've got a job interview for a travel company coming up, and I know for a fact that they will do a basic maths test with a calculator. I need an easy formula that I can do on my calculator for converting currency...i.e if Ive got 拢12.00 how much will it be in Euro depending on the rate and how do I work this out and vice versa?

Thanks! p.s I am really not mathematically at all!|||If you have a calculator, all you need to know is the exchange rate of the day and the currency you need to change from/ to as simple as that.|||hmmm|||ok so say the rate is 拢1=1.42 euros. All you need to do is 拢12,000 x 1.42 = 17040 euros

Now what they may ask you to do is the opposite....i.e change 12000 euros into pounds...to do this you need to work out how 拢 a euro is worth. To do this all you do is 1 divided by 1.42 to get the rate of 1euro to the 拢

so with the same figures

1/1.42 = 0.704 (rounded) therefore 1euro = 拢0.704

12000 euros is 12000 x .0.704 = 拢8448

good luck
