What currency should I bring to sharm el sheikh?

Am going to sharm at end of june with 14 year old daughter. We like snorkelling, boat trips and she likes to scuba. We are staying at rehana beach resort (not the royal one). Any tips or hints greatly appreciated. I will bring US dollars for tipping and some UK money. But..if you go out of the hotel and into a restaurant..what currency do they want us to pay in? Thanks ahead!|||It's the best to bring Egyptian pounds

Note:

you can exchange 1 English pound for 7 Egyptian pounds or 1 American dollar for 5.5 Egyptian pounds|||I've been to Sharm 4 times now and we always take Egyptian pounds and Sterling with us - have never taken US dollars! We tip in Egyptian pounds but if we go out to eat we normally pay by credit card - they use the portable swipe machines in most of the restaurants! Everything is priced in Egyptian pounds - why should they charge US dollars! Be careful at the airport - for lifting your suitcase and putting it in the car or on the check-in they WILL expect a tip and they always ask for sterling!!!

The hotels charge a fortune for exchanging currency so you need to find a good bank. Also check with the hotel as some of them like you to charge everything to your room in the hotel. If you keep the receipts then you know how much you have spent.

Most of the agencies booking boat trips etc accept credit cards - it is far safer as long as you don't let the card out of your sight!

Enjoy|||It is better to take english notes and exchange them in your hotel for egyptian notes you get a far better exchange rate, they also accept english notes as well though.|||Egyptian pounds.|||Egyptian Pounds, duh!
