Okay, I know that the Chinese currency is the RMB %26amp; the Yuan. But when travelling to China is US currency or the English Pound easily accepted.
Between the US dollar, the pound %26amp; the euro, which is the more accepted in China?
(And in case different parts of China have different preferences, I am focussing mainly on Beijing %26amp; Wuhan.)|||The Chinese will ONLY accept RMB no other currency. Changing currency (and travelers checks) in China can be a nightmare. My advice would be to change your money into RMB before you go and take it with you.|||Mainly RMB. For the other currencies, US dollar is the one most accepted alternative currency specially when you stay in big hotels. Hong Kong Dollars are used in mainly in Hong Kong and accepted some parts of Shenzhen usually selected stores in Lowu border. For your travels to Beijing and specially Wuhan, i advise bringing RMB as you might have a harder time changing currencies.
*There are actually some stores in US that accepts other currencies than US dollar, particularly those stores that are owned by chinese, filipinos, indian, and korean.(those that I've seen and been).*|||The only currency accepted in China is the Chinese yuan. You will need to convert your foreign currency into Chinese yuan if you wish to buy anything here.
There are no "alternative" currencies in China. Why would there be? Do stores in the U.S. accept euros or yen? Of course not, so why would you ever think it is any different in China?|||It used to to be US dollar, but now, nothing but the RMB. Sure, you may find someone who would occassional accept something else, but you CANNOT rely on that.
The main reason is that people are very leary of counterfeit money. Most people don't know what anything but the RMB looks like. Do you know what the RMB looks like?
You gotta convert unless you want to shop, eat, and sleep in all western style places, and even then, I don't think you could get by.|||the only other currency accepted in china from place to place is the hong kong dollar (and even then people will only accept it from time to time)
