How get currency exchanged in a foreign country?

When you are in a foreign country, where do you go to get your dollars exchanged for local currency?|||In Europe you can exchange money at any "Cambio" (on every other corner it seems in London.) Otherwise you can exchange money at the airport, a local bank, most major hotels(rate is usually bad), or if you give your bank enough notice they can do it for you before you leave. I usually take $100USD and about $100 in travelers cheques (just in case things are stolen) but I get most of my spending money from ATM's as I need it. If you have a card (debit not the regular card which charge cash advance fees) with either Visa or Mastercard logo you can get money in most any country. This is the safest and easiest way to go.|||I always swap some at the airport. Then I head for the American Express office (right by the Opera if you're doing Paris).|||You can order the foreign currency at your local bank before you leave or usually at the airport they have places that exchange it for you. Be very careful try to stay away from those small exchange shacks they usually give you a crappy deal on currency exchange.|||You can easily exchange your money at banks or at the airport in a foreign country. The hotel where you're staying can also guide you to the best place to exchange money. Be sure to only exchange money with establishments not individuals as sometimes that's against the law in certain countries.

Here in the US you can exchange money at many banks - call yours to find out or at an international airport like Dulles or JFK.
