Next week planning to visit, Istanabul, Turkey for attending a conference from India.
Could anyone let me know what is the currency to be carried to Turkey.|||Real and pure gold. Currency of the past, present and the future.
It will never leave you out....in the cold.|||My advice, bring a little amount of Turkish lira (for cab from airport to your hotel, etc.) and the rest can be euro or US dollar. Exchange them here in Turkey at exchange offices (I don't recommend the offices at airport their rates are not good, just find an office at the city.)|||A bit of both Turkish Lira and Euros is your best bet. Euros are accepted pretty much everywhere. make sure you get the prices for food, cabs, drinks up front because if you are a visible tourist they will charge you in Euros even though the prices are clearly shown in Lira.|||Hi Cendu,
You can carry euros or dollars..It's not important..I suggest you shouldn't exchange money in Turkish Bank. Exchange offices will be fine than Turkish Banks.|||Turkish lira Euros dollars sterling you will find all will be acceptable . Turkey is not part of the EU yet so Euros are not its main currency|||Turkish currency would make sense. Is this a conference for the mentally retarded?|||euros, dollars, liras|||US Dollars....accepted anywhere and everywhere...|||euros|||euros u noob
